The Center for Religion and the Human presented an exhibition organized by Jeremy Biles, Luca Fitzgerald, and Ryan M. Pfeiffer + Rebecca Walz, featuring work from the Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not) digital archive. It took place in the Process Gallery at the Gayle Karch Cook Center in Maxwell Hall from February 3 to March 10, 2023. Funded by the Henry Luce Foundation with additional support from the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Arts & Humanities Council at IU Bloomington.

Our project takes the words spoken by Jesus to Mary Magdalene in the garden after she discovers his empty tomb — noli me tangere (“touch me not”) — as a provocation for reflection on the COVID-19 pandemic, and on other pandemics, viral and social, that engulf us.
